Hybrid console released in 2017

This console is highly versatile, allowing you to play it on the run or sitting at your TV. It's also easy to bring others into games too with its shareable screen and controllers.

Switch SDEV Console

The SDEV console is a Switch console with more advanced features, including a built-in debugger and capture software, as well 64GB of NAND storage and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on your preference. The back of the console bulges outwards due to a built-in dedicated PCB for adding additional ports. The SDEV console has no battery and instead must be powered constantly by a Wii U AC Adapter (WUP-002) via the power port on the back. There's also an Ethernet port, a HDMI port and a Wii remote external controller port, which allows you to test games using the Classic Controller Pro (RVL-005-02) which comes packaged with the SDEV console.

HAT-001(-01)

The SDEV-D console is a variant of the Switch SDEV with much better power consumption, similar to the standard Switch's "Mariko" variant. The SDEV-D also has 8GB of RAM compared to the standard 4GB or 6GB.

Switch EDEV Console

The EDEV console resembles the retail console for final testing, with its pre-installed debugging software. It has no expandable memory, but the NAND storage can still be upgraded.

HAT-002(-01)

The EDEV-D console is a variant of the Switch EDEV with much better power consumption, similar to the standard Switch's "Mariko" variant, allowing for longer battery life.

SDEV Cradle

Since the SDEV console has some extra bulk, it cannot fit into a standard Switch dock. Due to this, the SDEV cradle comes included with the SDEV console, and basically has all the same features of the standard Nintendo Switch dock. The main features of the cradle include video output to a TV or monitor (up to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second) and charging the main console and any attached Joy-Cons. The cradle has three USB ports; one on the front, and two on the back, meaning it has all the same ports and features as a standard Switch dock. The LED on the top lights up when in TV mode and will flash if an error has occurred. The cradle is powered by a USB-C AC adapter. Different versions of the SDEV cradle only work with certain versions of the SDEV console, so it's wise to keep these devices together.

Relay Box

The relay box is mostly similar to the SDEV cradle, except it's intended to be used with the EDEV console rather than the SDEV. It lacks the two USB ports that are usually on the back of the SDEV cradle, and swaps the front USB port for a microB USB port. This microB USB port is essential for connecting the EDEV console to a PC, as the EDEV lacks the same additional ports the SDEV console has on the back.
