Game & Watch

Multiple genre franchise started in 1980

A franchise of dedicated monochrome game consoles, containing simplistic games. Game & Watch consoles are named as such, as they can also be used to tell the time, and some models also featured an Alarm feature. Most games came with an easier Game A option and a more difficult Game B option.

Game & Watch games were LCD-based standalone games, such as Ball and Manhole, that also had a clock and alarm function. Later models varied wildly in design. The multi-screen models helped inspire the two-screen design of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS consoles.

Nintendo have released over 60 of these consoles over the years. We have extensive information on every last one of these consoles. To view that information, please click here.
