Golf
Sports series started in 1984
A series of games that aim to emulate the popular international sport, golf, where players must use metal clubs to hit small balls across a large area of land, so that they can land in the hole at the end. The player must avoid hitting the ball into sand traps and bodies of water, whilst taking advantage of where the wind is blowing.

A basic series of golf games released for Nintendo's early consoles. Due to golf's focus more on technical aspects and slow gameplay than other sports, the mechanics translate perfectly to videogames.
Mario Golf
Sports series started in 1987
A series of baseball games that feature characters and places from the "Mario" series. These games are developed by Camelot Software Planning, known for the "Golden Sun" series.
Nintendo Touch Golf (EU)/True Swing Golf (US)
Sports series started in 2005
A series of golf games exclusive to the NintendoDS. Unlike traditional golf series, this series has you perform shots using the Nintendo DS's touch screen to mimic the actual act of striking a golf ball.
